Coach Roy, himself a Mat Rat as a child, began wrestling at the age of 8 and continued to wrestle throughout high school with the Road Crew.  Roy has been coaching the Mat Rats for 9 years.  His success as a coach comes from his contagious passion for the sport of wrestling and his ability to relate to and motivate the kids.  For him, the team spirit that binds the Mat Rats allows the kids under his wing to compete individually and enjoy success on their own merit, yet enjoy a strong support network of team mates and friends.  Roy's coaching style is fun and upbeat, yet simultaneously building an ethic of hard work and drive for success, all of which has earned him the respect of the wrestlers and their parents for almost a decade.  Coach Roy believes strongly in good sportsmanship and holds his wrestlers to a high standard.  For Roy, it is the kids that drive him to continually improve himself as a coach so he can help them achieve every success.  Spend a few minutes with Coach Roy and his passion for wrestling and the kids he coaches is clear; it's in his blood.  Roy and his wife Jana have 3 children Cheyenne (11), Caitlyn (8) and Caleb (4).  Off the wrestling mat you can find Roy coaching his daughter's softball team and

spending time with his family.

Coach Brian began coaching the Mat Rats nine years ago.  His calm, patient approach to coaching every child of every age and every ability level has earned him, year after year, the respect of parents and wrestlers.  Brian believes that wrestling develops not only a team spirit amongst children, but also the ability to stand individually on their own merits.  For Coach Brian, being a Mat Rat makes you part of one big family, a place to develop friendships, practice sportsmanship, stay active, and a place to be respectful, and be respected.  Brian has been married to Dawn for 25 years.  They have 2 sons, Darian (15) and Triston (13), both former Mat Rats, placed in State twice, and multi State  qualifers who now help their Dad coach.  Darian and Triston are role models for the younger kids and a shinning example of how you can develop in the sport, while the sport develops you.  It is today's Mat Rats that are the future high school Road Crew and Brian is dedicated to helping that program.  Dawn is also actively involved in the Mat Rats organization, a former president of the club, and parent volunteer.  In the summer months you can find Brian coaching on the baseball or football field and spending time with his family.
